We see this pigeon on the same bit of the Royal Mile all the time. Magnus has dubbed him 'Steve the Pigeon.' We love him.

This is what water looks like after washing very acidic paper. The professional term is 'pee water'.

A walk in the park on a lovely Sunday afternoon.

Yay - my pretzels didn't suck!

The new, improved, even more ridiculously enormous orthotics given to me by my doctor yesterday in an effort gain control of my shin splints. Now even more of my shoes are verboten! I guess this season I'll be sporting the new 'Gout Chic' footwear range.

Scary. This was leaning against a table in my Biomechanics Doctor's office today.

My new camera does some sweet macro.

Kiki, Sally, and I bought Giordana orchids for her birthday.

For some reason, my amigurumi jellyfish helps the Radio4 reception on our digital radio at work.

Sunday, 21 September 2008

Magnus and I went for a walk this afternoon in the park. What a beautiful day!
More here.

I had a nice pressie waiting for me when I got home tonight (besides my sweet husband!): my absentee ballot!

Catching up... Thursday 18 September, 2008Pizza at Mel and Pete's house tonight.

Catching up... Wednesday 17 September, 2008*ouch* my head. Thankfully, Habba had me round in the evening and fed me lovely pasta, gave me nice wine, and showered me with lovely gracious company!

Catching up... Tuesday 16 September, 2008The scene of much brain-frying this week.

Catching up... Monday 14 September, 2008
First day of the conference, and what do I choose to take a photo of? The awesome black bean burgers Melanie fed me after a full day conferencing.

Catching up... Sunday 14 September, 2008Mmm... late train to London meant Chinese takeaway at my hotel. Behold! the glory that is 'Monastery Tofu Feast'

Catching up... Saturday 13 September, 2008Emma had us round for another one of her wonderful pizza parties, and Neil-of-the-Nice-Beers brought much beery goodnes.

Friday, 12 September 2008

Pint after work with Emma - weather strangely behaving itself two days in a row.

Thursday 12 September, 2008Walking to work... is that blue sky peeking out from behind the Parliament?

Playing around with the bells and whistles on my new camera - my favourite Vulcan photographed in black&white with colour accent. I LOVE this setting, and will need to play around with it more!

Monday 8 September, 2008
The street performers on the Royal Mile are keeping that Festival feeling alive a little longer.

This is a photo of our old camera (out of warranty!), the trusty HP Photosmart R717, taken by our new camera, the sleek and sexy Canon IXUS 80. Behold the massive screen injury. We will keep the old workhorse as a backup should the new golden boy fall into trouble.

Catching up... Saturday 6 September, 2008
This was the last photo I took with my old camera before it suffered major screen injury, may it rest in peace. This is the amazing sunset above London Road last night on our way to Vicki's birthday drinks in Leith. I took this photo, and popped the camera back into my little clutch bag, where it got brutally assulted by the other contents of the bag. The suspects include my mobile phone, my keys, and a handful of pub shrapnel that I was too jolly to remember to put into my coin purse. Suspiciously, we had only spoken last week about getting a new camera, so I had already done my online research and picked one out...

Catching up... Friday 5th September, 2008
This is an awesome hoodie... click on it to see its full splendour.

Catching up... Thursday 4 September, 2008
This was my very first amigurumi, who now lives on Kiki's bench at work. He likes to pose with conservation tools in a nonchalant manner.

Catching up... Wednesday 3 August, 2008
The most bizarre statue in the world outside the Edinburgh Council offices on Market Street. It's enormous! I like to call it 'Some Guy'.

Catching up... Tuesday 2 September, 2008
Robin Hood Prince of Thieves.... so crap it deserves to be thrown in the gutter and run over many times.

Catching up... Monday 1 September, 2008

We often see this man on our walk to work in the morning. He drives up in a brown car, gets out and puts on his brown hat and brown jacket. He opens up the back of the car, and out pops five brown dogs. They are all beautifully trained working dogs that react to his whistles, and this is him putting them through their routine.
