Why three volumes? I didn't think Emma was that long! Mine is just a slim Folio Society copy in one book!

Books were often originally published in three parts (they're called triple decker books)... probably as an excuse to charge more for them! I used an original first edition triple decker of Pride and Prejudice as my model for these.
