Emma had us round last night and made us amaaazing fish pie courtesy of the Hairy Bikers. Wine was consumed, gossip was exchanged, and 'Lars and the Real Girl' was watched. All three of these things are highly recommended.

This is what we bought as penance for our Bacchanalian weekend of 'food before morals' and booze. It came two hours ago, and I've already put it together and had a go... won't Magnus be impressed when he gets home from work.

Mould. Ew, stinky horrible mould. This is what happens to wet books when they stay wet for a long time before anyone notices. Remember those flood books from a few weeks back? Hmm, yeah...

I'm afraid that for the first time in the history of my 365, I am posting a photo I did NOT take... I'm going to admit that straight away. My camera ran out of juice on Tuesday, so I didn't get any photos of our kickass visit to Craigmillar Castle OR the sweet Raconteurs gig in the evening. This photo was taken by Pete, who to be fair was standing just about 3 feet away from me at the time. It's allllmost like I took it myself. Really! They were awesome btw and were supported by the righteous Sons and Daughters fae Glesga. Mel caught a drumstick and waited until some ridiculously late hour outside the Corn Exchange to get an autograph from a band that never showed up. Mel and Pete left in the morning, and Kate and Magnus were very sad.

An activity with Mel and Pete that didn't involve drinking and dancing and drinking. Tantallon Castle near North Berwick. V. nice.

'Friend Rock'. You have to go to show your support, but that doesn't mean you have to like it.

Studio 24...goth rock metal club extraordinaire. And the scene of some grievous crimes against dancing on Saturday night with Mel and Pete. There are photos. Oh yes. They won't be going on my 365.

A very disturbing mummy/baby painting I worked on today. I'm afraid I might have released a curse when I unframed it.

Kiki was working on this awesome pop up book. If you pull the tab, the house lights up with little blinking Christmas lights!

Magnus left his brolly at work yesterday, so he had to use one of my girlie ones this morning. While it was pouring with rain - like it hasn't stopped doing for a whole month!!

Uh-oh!! This really IS a problem!

I can't stop making amigurumi. It's becoming a problem. Left to right: octopus, bunny, cthulhu. We actually went out last night with Emma, Caroline, and Caroline's husband Mike, and would have loved to take photos, but my camera was dead from all the amigurumi photos I've been taking.

So there was ANOTHER leak today, and these are the casualties. Why won't it stop raining? Why, God, why?!?!

121/365

Monday 11 August, 2008So my boss came in and put a box on my desk yesterday afternoon. "Open the box carefully," he said, and much to my surprise there was a MOUSE in the box! He was caught on one of the stack floors by a bookfetcher, and somehow it became my job to release him on my way home. So I gave him a hunk of apple, which he happily munched on for awhile, and released him near the Parliament. I'd like to think he's now sitting on Alex Salmond's head, a la 'Ratatouille', ruling the country.

Tonight old Mr. Sparrow down the stairs asked if Magnus could change some light bulbs in their flat. I came along to hold the ladder, and he gave us these amazingly tasty beers as thank you. No...thank YOU, Mr. Sparrow!

Last night we went to see our first Fringe show of the year with Emma, and hung out beforehand in the Pleasance drinking tasty beer and soaking up the atmosphere. Can you tell I love the Festival? Be prepared for a lot of Festival-related photos this month!

Ooo... festival silliness is in the air. The anticipation is building!
That's meant to be an upside-down cow, btw.
